Summer Reading Program

Children and teens who participate in summer library programs benefit from engaging activities and opportunities which promote literacy development and can help to counter summer slide. Summer library programs for all ages enhance lifelong learning and provide meaningful, enjoyable experiences available to everyone in the community. The State Library is proud to support libraries in this endeavor.

Join us this Summer for our 2025 Summer Reading Program! This year we have tons of exciting stuff that you can earn throughout the summer like jibbitz band, charms, coupons, small prizes, and FREE BOOKS.

For every 5 books you read you will earn a small prize/coupon, a charm for your jibbitz band and a FREE book (capped at 5 books and 10 charms)! To complete the Summer Reading Program and earn an invitation to our End of Summer Party, you must complete 10 books or activities. Limitations may apply, check out our website for more information.

When you first sign up for the summer reading program you will receive a chain, a start of summer brag tag, and some information about the upcoming summer.

 

Littles (0-6) and Middles (7-11)

  •  For every 5 books you read you will earn a charm for your jibbitz band, a small prize and a FREE book. *
  • To complete the Summer Reading Program and earn an invitation to our End of Summer Party, you must complete 10 books or activities.
  • Register online at rollapubliclibrary.beanstack.org.
  • Gameboards can be picked up inside the Library or by curbside pickup during open hours. 

Teens and Tweens (12-18) and Adults(18+)

  •  For every 2 books you read you will earn a charm for your jibbitz band, and a FREE book. *
  •  For every 5 books you read you will earn a small prize.*
  • To complete the Summer Reading Program and earn an invitation to our End of Summer Party, you must complete 5 books.
  • Register online at rollapubliclibrary.beanstack.org.
  • Gameboards can be picked up inside the Library or by curbside pickup during open hours.

**Prizes are available while supplies last starting Monday, June 2nd. (Free books are capped at 5 books, charm are capped at 10 and prizes are capped at 20 items per person)

Art Days with Arts Rolla

Wednesday, June 4th

Join us every Wednesday from 5pm – 6:30pm for a weekly art class taught by Arts Rolla’s local artist! Each week we will have a different activity based around that week’s theme. This week we will be learning all about watercolor painting!
Suggested age: Ages 10 and older.

Wednesday, June 11th

Join us every Wednesday from 5pm – 6:30pm for a weekly art class taught by Arts Rolla’s local artist! Each week we will have a different activity based around that week’s theme. This week we will be learning how to make yarn animals!

Theme

The 2025 Summer Reading Program theme is art and the slogan for all ages is “Color Our World”. The 2025 CSLP Program features artwork by Brian Floca.

Upcoming CSLP programs

2026: Slogan “Unearth a Story” and theme is Dinosaurs/Archaeology/Paleontology. The 2026 CSLP program features artwork by Tom Bonson.
